Our studios sit in north Cardiff at Pontprennau and Llanishen, with easy access from the M4. Dancers travel from neighbourhoods across the city and from towns just outside Cardiff, including Caerphilly, Newport and Barry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age can my child start?

We welcome children from age 2 in Tiny Ballet, our pre-school ballet class on Saturday mornings. Foundational movement is explored through imagination and play. ISTD Pre-Primary Tap can start from age 3. From around age 4.5, or when they start reception, they can also grow into RAD Ballet, ISTD Primary Modern and creative movement.

How does the 2-week paid taster session work?

Book your taster session via our Book a Taster Session page. Miss Danielle will be in touch to arrange your two weeks. At the end, simply decide if you'd like to continue. No pressure, ever.

Where are classes held?

We run classes at Pontprennau Primary School (CF23 8LL) and Livsey Scout Hall near Llanishen train station (CF14 5UX). Both have on-site parking. Pontprennau also has a lift to the studio. Venues can change from time to time for reasons outside our control.

Do you only teach families in Cardiff?

No. Our studios are in north Cardiff, and dancers travel from neighbourhoods across the city, including Pontprennau, Llanishen, Cyncoed, Rhiwbina, Rumney, Cathays and Canton, as well as from Caerphilly, Newport and Barry just outside Cardiff. If you are unsure about travel time, get in touch and we will help you plan.

Do you prepare students for exams?

Yes, we offer RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) and ISTD examination classes. We have a 100% pass rate. Exams are encouraged but not compulsory.

Do you offer adult classes?

Absolutely! Open Adult Ballet runs on Monday evenings, 7:30–8:30 pm at Pontprennau Primary School. If you would like to pursue RAD exams and have never started, we typically recommend Thursday RAD Grade 4, 7:30–8:30 pm at the same venue. All abilities welcome, including complete beginners.

How are qualifications recognised?

RAD and ISTD qualifications are OFQUAL-regulated, internationally recognised, and aligned with UK and Qualifications Wales frameworks.

Is the venue accessible?

Pontprennau Primary School has a lift, on-site car park and is easy to reach from the M4. Livsey Scout Hall has on-site parking near Llanishen train station. All staff are DBS-checked.

Can my child join if they already attend another dance school?

Not without prior agreement between the principals of both schools. This is important for ethics, and because different educators have different teaching methodologies. Conflicting information can hinder a student's progression. En Pointe offers a well-rounded dance curriculum across multiple disciplines, so there should be no need to attend two schools.
