Ballet for toddlers, without the pressure
Tiny Ballet is En Pointe's pre-school ballet class for children aged 2 to 4 in Pontprennau, Cardiff. It is a 30-minute Saturday class that introduces ballet through imagination, music and play, so little ones leave smiling, not overwhelmed.
Parents often worry that two is too young, or that a dance school will feel too serious. Tiny Ballet is built for this age. Miss Danielle uses stories, feathers, pom-poms and first ballet steps so children discover posture, coordination and confidence without realising they are training. You can stay in the studio until your child is happy to come in on their own.
When they are ready, usually from age 4, they step into RAD Pre-Primary in Dance in the next Saturday slot. The same teacher, the same studio, a natural next step.

Common questions
Is age 2 too young to start ballet?+
No. Tiny Ballet is built for ages 2 to 4. Classes use imagination, props and play to introduce ballet foundations at a pace that suits toddlers. Many of our dancers start here and move into RAD Pre-Primary when they are ready.
Can I stay in the studio with my child?+
Yes. In Tiny Ballet, parents stay in the room until the dancer is happy to come in by themselves. Some children run in alone from the first class. We have also seen dancers take up to 6 months, so it does not matter if they do not go in on their own straight after the taster. That transition happens as they grow confidence in the studio, make friends, and build a connection with Miss Danielle.
Does my child need any dance experience?+
None at all. Tiny Ballet is the first class for most of our youngest dancers. They learn through play, stories and music.
How long is the class and when does it run?+
Tiny Ballet is 30 minutes, Saturdays 10:00–10:30 at Pontprennau Primary School, Cardiff. The short class matches a toddler's attention span, then Pre-Primary ballet follows at 10:30 for dancers aged 4 and above.
What should my child wear?+
The Tiny Ballet uniform is the RAD Rosie leotard and Belle skirt in pale blue, with pink ballet socks and pink full-sole leather ballet shoes. Uniform helps little ones feel they belong. Miss Danielle can advise before you buy.
What happens at the 2-week taster session?+
Your child joins Tiny Ballet as a normal student for two Saturdays, with no long-term commitment. You are welcome to stay in the studio if they need you. It is a chance to meet Miss Danielle, see how your child settles, and decide if it feels right. It does not matter if they are not ready to go in on their own after the two weeks.
